Consortium for Educational Communication (CEC), New Delhi

The Consortium for Educational Communication (CEC) is one of the Inter University Centres set up by the University Grants Commission of India. Established in 1991, addresses the needs of higher education through powerful media like Television along with the appropriate use of emerging Information Communication Technology (ICT). Today, CEC’s 21 Media Centres are working towards achieving this goal. In view of the potential of CEC, MHRD, New Delhi designated CEC as National Coordinator for Undergraduate MOOCs and 11 SWAYAM Prabha DTH Channels. CEC has one of the largest repositories of digital educational content in the country. Today, CEC’s repository includes more than 40,000 video programs, 24,000 e-content modules and as a National Coordinator CEC has developed around 322 Undergraduate MOOCs covering Arts, Literature, Language, Social Sciences, Natural and Applied Sciences and Management and Professional courses.sss
